What could be the best place in Colorado to live and study college

What could be the best place in Colorado to live and study college?
My husband and I will move soon to Colorado, what could it be the best city there?, with college oportunities, job oportunities and enterteiment, we are looking for a safe place too. Thanks

I second Colorado Springs. My Dad used to take us there for vacation when I was a kid and I LOVED it. If I could move there today, I would. I also really like Denver. My Aunt has lived there for years and as far as I know, really likes living there and never had any problems. Colorados just an all around GREAT state to live in - good luck to you!

That is a great question, but we need more info as to what you like. Boulder is amazing. There is a wonderful, intellectual, eclectic energy there. University of Colorado is there, you can walk to just about anywhere and it is safe. BUT, it is expensive. Colorado Springs is nice, nothing compared to Denver and Boulder in terms of a city, but it is affordable and in recent years more and more establishments have provided its citizens with activities and restaurants,etc. Denver has many, many areas that are fun, hip, family oriented: Washington Park neighborhood, Highlands, Sloans Lake. All are easily accessible to the highways and to downtown but are safe.

Where to go to college for a geology degree in Colorado?
I am thinking about becoming a geologist in Colorado, and was wondering where to go to college, and after that where to begin my career.

The best area of employment at the moment is environmental geology/engineering, everyone is becoming more aware of the environmental impacts of mining, quarrying, large construction projects etc. Companies are desperate for environmental geologists and engineers.

I went to the University of Florida, so that is obviously the best. But in the oil industry, Colorado School of Mines has a very good reputation. The reality is that any public school will be good. You can begin your career as a geologist anywhere in the world after you get your degree from any institution, particularly if you have high grades. Currently the oil field is the hottest market, but in five years maybe it will be something else such as environmental geology. If you get to the PhD level, you can even begin your career anywhere in the solar system, as it is geologists that are most concerned with geology of Mars and Saturn, for instance.

I know you said Colorado, but if you're flexible, have you thought of Lake Tahoe? Great nightlife and snowboarding with a lot of options! GoTahoeNorth.com has descriptions of all of the towns around Lake Tahoe, with the personality traits of each town, so you can find the one that's right for your group! Plus, they have a ton of information on lodging/restaurants/night life, so you can get a good idea of where to stay and what to do before you go! Good luck!

Keystone or Breckenridge are good places with a great night life, Keystone has night skiing, if you do a multiday lift ticket you can go between the mountains, in Breck eat at Mi Casa near the base of peak 9 for $1 tacos and $4 beers. Breckenridge Brewery is good, or Eric's for Pizza. Ullers is also good but iffy service. My personal favorite place to ride is Vail when the back bowls are open but it tends to be an expensive town, parking is $25/day, but the George is a great place to eat and drink afterwards ($15 surf n turf and 3.75 drafts.)
