Mesa State College is the only 4 year institution I know about. It is a very good small liberal arts college with a decent selection of programs available. http://www.mesastate.edu/ Grand Junction is a pleasant middle sized town with some beautiful country for outdoor activities not far away. Grand Mesa is a gorgeous and diverse area. And they just call it Grand Junction, not Grand Junction city. Check out Western Slope Craigslist to get an idea of available jobs. http://westslope.craigslist.org

It would be best to actually visit there and ask people who are already attending the college instead of this site.

Guille, The best way to find out info is to contact a student. You can start looking for contact information for Colorado colleges here. http://www.collegereviewed.com/Colorado-Colleges-Universities.html Students always seem to know what's up better than outsiders since they spend so much time on campus.

How much would it likely cost to attend a university in Colorado, by being a resident of California ?

Answer 1 :
It'll be very expensive, over 25K/year probably. Or you could move to CO and stay for awhile to establish residency...not sure how long it takes though...at least a year I'd guess.
Answer 2 :
"Hard to do" depends upon what you can afford. Don't forget to factor any differences between the total financial aid package each school might offer you into the equation. And be sure as well to factor in differences between nonacademic expenses, i.e., your projected total cost of living for the year, in each place. Edit Would you consider attending a community college near the university of your choice for one or two years in order to reduce the total academic cost of your education? Community college courses are often taught by many of the same instructors as freshman and sophomore university courses, and the classes are smaller.
