If I go to college in Colorado can I still become certified as a teacher in New York

If I go to college in Colorado can I still become certified as a teacher in New York?
Hi! I was considering going to colorado for college because I have some family there and I really like it there. I want to become a teacher and live in New York though. I was wondering if i could attend college in Colorado and then become certified to teach in new york. Ps. I want to be a high school english teacher. Thanks!

yeah as long as you get the right degree you can virtually get a job doing what you want to do anywhere. just because the school is in colorado doesn't mean you can't teach in new york. just get the right degree and you should be good
Answer 2 :
If you graduate with all the requirements to be a teacher in New York.
Answer 3 :
No. Many states are douches that ignore the fact that you went to college and got a degree... Really? Let me ask you something, if I go to my local Thrift store, but I have a Kroger's plus card, will they still let me shop there? Yes!
Answer 4 :
You need to be credentialed in New York. You can get your BA in English in Colorado and go to a NY school for teaching credential. NY along with many of the larger states now requires 5 years for a teaching credential. By the way, English is a pretty difficult area to right now for teaching jobs as there are so many English majors. It may have changed in 5 years however, so go for it. Good luck!
Answer 5 :
Yes, contact the Dept of Ed in NY. You might have to retake the Praxis tests.
