I heard that I can get a job on campus but only less than 20 hours a week. Is it possible to get a job off campus? Do the places in Ft. Collins Colorado check for SS card and if you are a us citizen? Or is there any type of work that I can do to make money there?

You cannot lawfully work off campus without employment authorization. Such authorization can be obtained only if there is a change in your financial circumstances after one year as a student.
